Bill & Susie Antolec: Chiang Rai, Thailand

Acorn2Oaks, Inc. Bill & Susie live in a small village east of Chiang Rai, Thailand. Their primary ministry is to mid-late teenaged students who previously attended the local village school, Christian Paisansat School, and lived in Baan Farm Children’s Home, which is located on the school grounds. There are 6 predominant Hill Tribe people groups in northern Thailand. Most are farmers, considered the poorest of the poor, therefore there are few schools in these villages so they must send their children to places like Baan Farm Children’s Home in order to get an education.
Bill and Susie are currently supporting 5 students, 2 girls and 3 boys, helping them to be able to go to high school and perhaps college. They provide housing for them and mentor them regarding life’s challenges with the hope that they will know Jesus and will want to share their knowledge of Him with their families and others in their mountain top villages. The hope is that these students will become leaders in their communities allowing them to impact their world for Jesus!
The Antolec’s also work with students currently living at Baan Farm Children’s Home. Today over 90 boys and girls from 1st through 9th grade live in this dormitory while studying at the school. Bill & Susie’s primary purpose in being at the school is to build relationships with the older students, especially 9th graders, getting to know them so that, with help from the Holy Spirit, students can be selected to study further.

Chris & Esther Hoagland: Chiang Rai, Thailand

Chris and Esther have been serving in Thailand for more than 16 years. Baan Farm Children's Home exists to reach non-Christian elementary and junior high school students for Jesus, edifying and equipping them to grow in their faith by honoring God, caring for one another, discovering their gifts, and demonstrating God's love by serving others. They give underprivileged tribal and Thai children the opportunity to study in a safe and loving environment, while they are away from their families.
Their goals are to share God’s love with students and their families, to establish young believers in faith through worship, fellowship and discipleship, to equip the believers so they can serve others, and to improve the quality of life for boarding school or dormitory students. They are committed to this project and expect God to do great things. Thanks for your prayers and support!

Other Asia Partners
They have been teaching Church Planting in Asia for the last 10 years and are developing a national partnership of churches and pastors to reach the major cities of their host country. This partnership exists to see house churches trained up to plant other churches themselves until there is one church per apartment building. To do this, they envision, listen, train, consult, encourage, challenge and just plain experience life with these leaders; anything and everything required to see this vision reproduced in the lives of the people they mentor.

Currently, Ken and Lisa are both serving with Bless China, International (BCI), a large Christian development organization. Lisa serves as a teacher both within BCI as well as in the local community where they live. Ken serves as the BCI Yunnan Director, overseeing about 30 projects in 8 locations across the province. While these projects include everything from HIV/AIDS prevention to orphan care, all of them focus on building local leaders, fostering communities of Christians, and building spiritual depth and character in the lives of locals.

Jose & Sarah Banks: Lonavala, India - Youth With A Mission

Jose and Sarah work with a Youth With A Mission training center called the University of Nations. Jose is the director of this campus that serves to train Indians and Asians for mission work. On the U of N Campus, students can study the entire Bible inductively, learn to hear God's voice, train in the performing arts and are discipled daily within the community. How exciting to see Asians going all over the world to share the Good News! They can go to places such as the Middle East with far more ease and less suspicion than Westerners. Together with their five children, Sarah and Jose spend a lot of time on the campus teaching and spending time with the young people that make up the student and staff body. Sarah keeps busy home-schooling their children and occasionally teaching on campus. No day is the same in the Jose family! What an adventure serving God in India is.

Dan and Debbie Ecker, Thailand - Firstlight International

Dan and Debbie have been North Way partners since 1999 when they moved to Thailand, but their combined experience spans 28 years of full time service in 25 countries. They founded Firstlight International in 1997, with the purpose of reaching the nations of Southeast Asia with the gospel. After the tsunami of 2004, they felt strongly led to begin a foundation in Thailand to bring hope and connection to impoverished families, especially focused on single parent families with a multi-faceted approach, changing lives and transforming communities through health, education, moral, economic and community development. They are currently splitting their time between Pittsburgh and Thailand and have one son, Josiah, who is currently attending Seattle Pacific University.
One Firstlight project Dan & Debbie are particularly passionate about is Families Without Fathers (FWF). Through this project they are making a difference in the lives of 69 children from 47 families in 6 locations. They help these children by providing for their school fees and related supplies two times a year. Their team also makes weekly visits to homes and area schools where they share the love of Christ through prayer and Bible study. This is an exciting time of fruitfulness in Thailand!
